LIPOSUCTION

What is Liposuction?

Liposuction, also referred to as lipo surgery, is a type of surgical fat removal that targets specific areas of the body where diet and exercise may not be enough. It works by removing subcutaneous fat—the layer of fat just beneath the skin—creating a more defined and streamlined silhouette. If you’re looking for a long-lasting solution to body fat reduction, liposuction may be the answer.

Am I a Candidate?

The ideal liposuction candidate is someone close to their goal weight with good skin elasticity. We evaluate each patient carefully, including their BMI for fat removal surgery, to determine the safest and most effective approach. Our certified plastic surgeons ensure you receive expert care tailored to your body type and medical background.

Liposuction Expectations

Before the procedure, patients often ask: Is liposuction safe for weight loss? While liposuction is not a weight loss method, it is extremely effective for targeted fat reduction in localized areas. Liposuction results become visible as swelling subsides, and long-term maintenance includes healthy eating and regular exercise.

Post-Surgery Recovery

The lipo recovery timeline varies by patient, but most can resume daily activities within a few days. Our team will guide you with recovery tips for fat removal surgery to ensure smooth healing and long-lasting results. We also help patients understand what to expect after liposuction surgery, including wearing compression garments and managing swelling.

Liposuction will not drastically reduce your weight, nor should it. The small areas of fat that patients want to be treated with liposuction will not change their weight because the fat is not dense and, therefore, does not weigh very much.
